Remember! DKI Provincial Government Bans Residents From Playing Firecrackers At Takbiran Night

JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin reminded the public not to light firecrackers during the takbiran night.

This is as stated in Article 19 of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 8 of 2007. In this regulation, it is stated that every person or entity is prohibited from making, selling, and storing firecrackers and the like.

"We appeal to the public not to use firecrackers that could endanger the safety and comfort of the people celebrating the security day," said Arifin when contacted, Thursday, April 28.

Therefore, Arifin said that his party would take action against residents who lit up petsan during surveillance the night before Eid 1443 H.

"Anyway, if it disturbs public order, later the Satpol PP will take action. It disturbs public unrest, yes. There must be an appeal not to use firecrackers so as not to disturb the community," he said.

Meanwhile, this year the government allowed the implementation of Eid prayers in mosques or open fields by implementing health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 on 1 Shawwal 1443 Hijriah.

This is stated in the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Religion Number 8 of 2022.

Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, stated that the government emphasized that health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, including wearing masks and maintaining distance, must be applied in carrying out Eid prayers in mosques and open fields.

Wiku appealed to residents to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols in all activities, especially to protect vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and comorbid patients who have not been able to undergo the COVID-19 vaccination.

"Don't let us feel too safe to do things that risk causing a spike in cases. For that, I don't get tired of reminding that during this policy adjustment period it is our responsibility to remain disciplined in wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and washing hands. is the main key so that the virus does not spread," said Wiku.
