Arrested By KPK, Bogor Regent Ade Yasin Still Undergoing Intensive Examination

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Bogor Regent Ade Yasin in a hand arrest operation (OTT) which was held on Tuesday night, April 26 until this morning, Wednesday, April 27. He is currently undergoing examination.

"We are and are still working," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in a written statement, Wednesday, April 27.

Firli doesn't want to talk much about the silent operation. He asked the public to be patient because the parties caught by OTT, including Bogor Regent Ade Yasin, were being investigated.

"In time the KPK will provide an explanation. Please be patient," he said. Previously, the KPK carried out a silent operation from Tuesday night, April 26 to Wednesday morning, April 27. Apart from Ade Yasin, there was another party who was also brought in by investigators, namely a member of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for the West Java Representative.

"(Parties arrested, ed) include the Regent of Bogor Regency, several parties from the West Java Representative BPK and other related parties," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters.

Ali said the arrests were made in connection with the alleged bribery. However, he did not elaborate further regarding the construction of the case because the investigation was still being carried out.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that money was also secured in the activities carried out in Bogor, West Java. However, he hasn't specified how many.

"KPK is actively making arrests in the Bogor area, West Java, and has secured several parties and some money and other evidence," he said.
