KENDARI - The Konawe Police Criminal and Investigation Unit, Southeast Sulawesi, confiscated 200 3 kg gas cylinders suspected of not having a sales license or a legal entity business permit.

In a written statement received in Kendari, Wednesday, April 27, Head of Criminal Investigation at the Konawe Police, AKP Moch Jacub Kamaru said that hundreds of subsidized gas cylinders were secured from a person with the initials MT on Jalan Poros, Kumapo Village, Oneembute District, Konawe Regency.

"This LPG gas cylinder was secured by members of the Oneembute Police, on Sunday 24 April 2022 at around 16.00 WITA," he said as quoted by Antara.

He said the gas cylinder was loaded by a man with the initials MT in a white pickup with Police Number DD-8347-DF. Furthermore, members of the Tipiter Polres Konawe pick up and secure the perpetrators to the Polres Konawe.

He revealed that the MT perpetrators did not have a legal entity and the 3 kg LPG cylinder was not purchased at Pertamina or from the base but was purchased from stalls in East Kolaka Regency at a price of Rp. 25,000 and then sold for Rp. 28,000 to Rp. 30,000. per tube.

"This gas cylinder will soon be sold across districts, namely in Morosi District, Konawe Regency, where the distribution of 3 kg LPG gas is not in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 55 of Law Number 11 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas and Article 55 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 56 of the Criminal Code with a threat of six years in prison.
