BANDA ACEH - The Banda Aceh Police Traffic Unit has secured as many as 53 units of racing exhaust motorcycles (Brong) during Ramadan to provide comfort for the public to worship.

"The use of the Brong exhaust is very disturbing to the public, especially now that residents are carrying out tadarus in mosques," said Head of Traffic Police of Banda Aceh, Kompol Radhika Angga Rista, in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Sunday, April 25.

A total of 53 motorcycles with racing exhausts that were raided during Ramadan, namely on Thursday, April 21, were secured as many as 18 motorcycles which were then taken to the Banda Aceh Police Headquarters.

Then, in the early hours of Sunday, April 24, the Banda Aceh Police Traffic Unit again secured 35 more motorcycles using the racing exhaust.

Dozens of motorbikes were secured around the city of Banda Aceh, for violating the Traffic and Road Transportation Law (LLAJ) No. 22 of 2009 Article 285. Moreover, currently Operation Ketupat Seulawah 2022 has taken place involving the TNI and related agencies.

"Dozens of motorbikes that have been secured can only be taken back if their owners have replaced all components that are not in accordance with the manufacturer's standards," he said.

Radhika appealed to parents of motorists to always supervise their children in using vehicles, especially those using racing exhausts.

"Most of the motorcycles that have been secured so far have been modified and can disturb other people, so they need parental supervision," said Commissioner of Police Radhika.
