Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Orders Booster Vaccine Homecomers So As Not To Bring Viruses To The Village

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin plans to perform the Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri Prayer with his family in Jakarta.

"I might be in Jakarta. Usually if it's not normal (pandemic conditions), (prayer) at home. We'll see," said Ma'ruf on the sidelines of his working visit in Yogyakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, April 22.

The vice president said the government had allowed the Eid 1443 Hijri prayer to be held in congregation. But still apply strict health protocols, especially wearing masks.

Tarawih prayers have also been allowed to be performed since the beginning of Ramadan while still implementing strict health protocols.

"If (maintaining) the distance, maybe now it has started to be loosened, but the health protocol, (wearing) the mask is especially important," he said.

In addition to allowing the worship of the months of Ramadan and Eid, the government also allows the public to travel back and forth on Lebaran 2022 by fulfilling vaccination requirements and implementing health protocols.

The vice president emphasized that the government had asked travelers to get a booster or booster dose of the pOVID-19 vaccine before traveling back and forth to anticipate the transmission of the virus from cities to villages and vice versa.

"Because where they go home, there are parents, there are sick people, children. Don't bring the virus to the village. Instead, don't bring the virus from the village (when) back to the city. This (maybe) transmission will occur, must be guarded ," said Ma'ruf Amin.

The vice president also asked local governments to prevent an increase in cases and reminded several countries that there had been an increase in cases, such as the UK and China.

"We don't want Lebaran, going home, to be the cause of an increase (cases)," he said.
