JAYAPURA - PT Angkasa Pura I Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency, Papua has prepared three machines that can be used to carry out independent check-in for prospective passengers.

"It is true that currently Sentani Airport has operated an independent check-in machine, making it easier for passengers who want to travel by plane," said Public Relations of Sentani Airport, Surya Eka, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 21.

Usually, passengers need to wait in line for quite a long time during the check-in process at the airport, including what happened at Sentani Airport.

However, with the provision of three machines, passengers who do not carry luggage no longer need to queue for conventional check-in.

According to him, passengers can use the new facilities provided by PT Angkasa Pura I at Sentani Airport, namely an independent aircraft check-in machine or self check-in kiosk and are expected to be able to break the queue at conventional check-in counters.

Check-in facilities are provided around the departure entrance and that is a way to improve services for passengers departing through Sentani Airport.

The self-check-in service currently serves passengers on domestic routes who will board planes belonging to Batik Air, Sriwijaya, Lion Group and Citilink airlines.

"We are optimistic that this new facility will reduce queues at conventional check-ins which will also have an impact on making the departure process easier and faster for passengers so that it will also have an impact on the on time performance of airports and airlines," said Surya.
