Yogyakarta Prepares Efforts To Accelerate Asset Control After Monitoring KPK

YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government will immediately prepare steps and strategies to accelerate efforts to control assets belonging to local governments after receiving monitoring from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"Especially for controlling assets, we are actually working on this. We have already taken steps and will accelerate them," said Yogyakarta Deputy Mayor Heroe Poerwadi after coordinating monitoring with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Yogyakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday. , April 21.

According to him, the local municipal government has collaborated with the Yogyakarta City National Land Agency (BPN) to certify land assets belonging to local governments, including roads.

"There is a suggestion from the KPK to accelerate it. Of course we will do it. If later there are problems during certification, it will be resolved on the way," he said.

Through controlling assets with certification, he hopes to be able to save and secure assets in addition to the needs of orderly administration.

Based on the Decree of the Mayor of Yogyakarta Number 71 of 2019 concerning the Determination of Road Sections in the City of Yogyakarta, 490 roads are set. Registration and certification has been since 2021 and the Yogyakarta City Land and Spatial Planning Service can complete the registration of 125 roads, including Jalan Margo Utomo, Margo Mulyo, and several other protocol roads.

The results of the registration are then submitted to the Yogyakarta City BPN for certification which is expected to be completed soon.

Registration activities will continue in 2022 with a target of 265 roads and it is targeted that by 2023 all roads in the city have been registered. Certification must begin with land registration.

In addition to controlling assets, in this monitoring, the KPK also mentions efforts to optimize regional income, especially from regional taxes.

"There are still tax arrears that are receivables. This is under the spotlight of the KPK. The Yogyakarta City Government is asked to immediately collect them so that they can optimize local revenue," said Heroe.
