Puan Maharani Moves To Greater Tangerang, Shares Ramadan With Food Packages

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, distributed thousands of basic food packages in the Greater Tangerang area, Banten.

“Today we launched the 'Sembako Mbak Puan' aid in the Greater Tangerang area. And this is also happening simultaneously throughout Indonesia," said Member of the DPR from the PDI-P faction Ananta Wahana who represented Puan Maharani, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

The amount of food assistance from the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani, was 2,000 packages in the form of 5 kg of rice.

However, as a party cadre, Ananta donated the same amount of 2,000 packages of rice, along with additional packaged cooking oil, granulated sugar, and packaged tea.

"So, the basic food assistance from Ms. Puan that we have distributed is a total of 4,000 packages. And we will distribute it in 40 distribution points," explained Ananta.

With the addition of the basic food aid, Ananta is expected to be able to reach a wider range of people who are still struggling due to the impact of the pandemic.

"This is a form of Mbak Puan's concern for the community. And also as a form of effort to ease the burden on the community," he said.

Ananta said that in the first stage of launching the program, assistance was given to party structures, namely the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) and Sub-Branch Management (PAC) in the Greater Tangerang area.

"Today, we are also distributing aid for party structures in districts, cities and South Tangerang City. Then three more points for residents in the Tangerang Regency area. The rest we distribute in stages," he said.

According to him, no matter how small the assistance, it will certainly make it easier for the community. Ananta also conveyed Puan Maharani's message not to be careless and ignore the health protocols (prokes) in carrying out daily activities.
