BANDUNG - West Java (Jabar) Governor M Ridwan Kamil said the Health Service had prepared 3,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for the 2022 Eid homecoming travelers.

"The minimum number of vaccines is prepared at 3,000 doses, but the safest thing is for travelers who are fully vaccinated, because if they are vaccinated at rest areas or at the post, we are worried that there will be Post-Immunization Adverse Events (KIPI) which will be dangerous," he said in a press statement in Bandung. Between, Wednesday, April 20.

However, the technical aspects of the injection are still being discussed because if the vaccination is carried out at the homecoming post or rest area, there is a concern that an AEFI will occur.

Even though in 2022 the government has again allowed going home, the COVID-19 health protocol must still be maintained because cases still exist.

Kang Emil urges travelers to have a complete dose of vaccination. Especially for travelers from areas with high cases, booster vaccination is highly recommended.

"So we urge you to make sure that the vaccine is fully vaccinated first and better yet, it has a booster especially for travelers who come from areas with high cases," he said.

The West Java Provincial Government has prepared anticipatory steps against the surge of homecomers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ridwan Kamil said 14.9 million travelers are expected to enter the West Java region. While those who left West Java reached 9.2 million people.

This amount is a form of accumulation of residents because it has been two years since going home has been abolished by the government, considering that COVID-19 cases were still high at that time.

"Out of a total of 85.5 million national travelers, around 14.9 million will return to West Java. Of course, we will continue to be alert because people have not returned home for two years," he said.

To manage such mass movements, it must be carried out in an integrated manner with various parties.

The West Java Provincial Government has also prepared 126 homecoming posts spread across various regions. This number does not include the 337 posts prepared by the West Java Regional Police who will be present during the back and forth flow.

"There are 500 more command posts that have been prepared by the West Java Provincial Government and Polda," said Kang Emil.
