DENPASAR - Two motorized ferry boats (KMP) have lost control around Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana, Bali. These two passenger ships must be towed by another ship to dock.

Gilimanuk Police Chief, Police Commissioner I Gusti Nyoman Sudarsana, said that the two ships lost control due to strong currents at around 7:14 WITA, October 7.

"At the crossing route of Ketapang-Gilimanuk Port, KMP has been dragged by a current. It departed from Ketapang Port towards Gilimanuk Port. It was in the Penginuman beach area (Gelungkori West Coast)," said Gusti.

The passenger ships were KMP Dharma Rucitra, which carried 20 passengers, and KMP Agung Wilis, with 17 passengers.

"KMP Dharma Rucita partnered with KMP Satya Kencana. It has successfully anchored the pontoon dock at Gilimanuk Port. Meanwhile, KMP Agung Wilis was collaborating with KMP Tiga Anugrah," continued Gusti.

KMP Dharma Rucitra was swept away by a strong current to the south. Meanwhile, KMP Agung Wilis experienced engine problems.

"After Syahbandar Gilimanuk checked out the two ships, they left for Ketapang port while still towing with empty cargo for further checking," said Gusti.
