JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated foreign currency evidence in a hand arrest operation (OTT) by the General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. The money confiscated by the KPK in this case was around Rp. 400 million.

This was confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Lili Pintauli. However, Lili was not sure how much the foreign currency was confiscated.

"BB (evidence) is in foreign currency. It looks like it is around Rp. 400 million if converted to rupiah. Later, the certainty will be conveyed at a press conference," said Lili when confirmed, Thursday, January 9.

This number is known from the calculation of evidence by the KPK investigating team and confirms it to the investigators.

Apart from Wahyu Setiawan, the investigation team is currently examining several other people, namely a number of politicians and personal staff. In total, there were 8 people who were secured in the silent operation. Some of them are PDI Perjuangan cadres.

"Currently there are 8 people being questioned. The team of investigators (investigators) is still working," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri.

Separately, the Chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, confirmed that the Wahyu Setiatawan case also dragged PDIP cadres. Allegedly, this corruption case is related to the Inter-Time Substitution (PAW) of PDIP candidates from South Sumatra. From the information gathered, the bribes received by Wahyu were channeled through two people with the initials D and S.

If it is proven that the flow of foreign money worth Rp. 400 million has entered Wahyu's pocket, it will increase his wealth as one of the KPU leaders. Judging from the State Officials' Assets Report (LHKPN) uploaded by the KPK, it was recorded that Wahyu's total assets reached Rp. 12.8 billion.

From a report dated December 31, 2018, it is known that Wahyu has immovable assets in the form of 9 land and buildings (inheritance) located in Banjarnegara, Central Java. The total assets amounted to IDR 3.35 billion.

He is also noted to have a Toyota Innova car worth IDR 190 million, a Honda Jazz car worth IDR 125 million, a Mitsubishi All New Pajero Sport car worth IDR 660 million.

In addition, there is a Honda Vario motorbike worth IDR 6 million, a Yamaha F 1 ZR motorbike worth IDR 4 million and a Vespa Sprint motorbike worth IDR 40 million. The total movable property in the form of transportation means is worth IDR1,025 billion.
