COVID-19 Update As Of April 19: 837 New Cases Appeared, Accumulated 6,041,269 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 146,805 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 837 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,041,269 and active cases have fallen by 1,947 to 49,022", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, April 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 2,750 people, bringing the total to 5,836,310 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 34 cases and the total was 155,937 people.

The province with the newest cases was West Java with 222 cases and a total of 1,104,423 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 222 new cases with a total of 1,246,002 cases. East Java has 79 new cases and a total of 575,148 cases. Central Java has 72 new cases and a total of 626,469 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Lampung with an additional 983 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 376 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 347 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 312 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 94,310,264.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 1.25 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,013 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 198,351,438 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 163,036,814 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 31,860,639. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
