PANGKALPINANG - The number of COVID-19 sufferers undergoing quarantine and or treatment has increased by eight to 92 people in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, according to the latest data from the local COVID-19 Handling Task Force.
According to the Secretary of the Bangka Belitung Islands Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Micron Space in Pangkalpinang, Monday 18 April, additional COVID-19 patients came from Belitung (4), Pangkalpinang (2), West Bangka (1), and South Bangka (1).
"Today, Bangka, Central Bangka and Belitung regencies have no additional cases," he said, quoted by Antara.
He detailed that COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing quarantine and/or treatment are spread across Pangkalpinang (23), Bangka (22), Belitung (16), Central Bangka (16), West Bangka (10), East Belitung (3), and Bangka. South (2).
"Currently 20 of the 92 COVID-19 patients are undergoing isolation at a referral hospital because they have co-morbidities such as diabetes, heart, lung, and others," he said.
He said that another 70 COVID-19 patients were self-isolating at home. As many as 80 centralized isolation facilities spread across districts and cities in Bangka Belitung are empty, no one is using them.
Mikron also explained that today there are 12 patients who have recovered from COVID-19 and one patient has died from the disease.
