The Blood Stock Of PMI Kudus Regency Is Running Low

KUDUS - Blood stock at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Kudus Regency Branch in Central Java Province is running low, or just enough to meet demand in the coming days.

According to Public Relations of the PMI Blood Donor Unit, Kudus Branch, Praptiningsih said, the total blood stock available was 214 bags, consisting of 34 bags of complete blood for blood group A, 95 bags of B, 23 bags of AB, and 45 bags of O and platelets. as many as 14 bags.

In fact, he said, requests from one hospital that has a blood bank can reach up to 60 bags and PMI must meet the demands of many hospitals.

He said that PMI Kudus served requests for blood from hospitals in the Kudus Regency area and hospitals outside the area in need.

Praptiningsih said that during the fasting month, blood donation activities were reduced.

"Donor activities during fasting are indeed reduced, especially from company employees who have a fixed schedule of donors being temporarily closed, so we only rely on nighttime donors and volunteers from the church congregation in Kudus," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18. This week, he said, three churches were scheduled to carry out blood donation activities and in addition there were donor cars that were deployed to provide mobile donor services after tarawih prayers.

PMI Kudus is optimizing efforts to attract donors during the month of Ramadan to meet the demand for blood.

According to Praptiningsih, this week the mobile blood donation service after Tarawih prayers is scheduled to be held in Getas Pejaten Village, Jati District and Undaan Tengah Village, Undaan District.

PMI also scheduled the implementation of blood donor activities in the Alun-alun to attract people who visit the downtown area.
