Thanks To His Uncle's Forgiveness, Eka, Who Was Detained For 2 Months In Badung, Bali, Was Released From The Threatening Case

BADUNG - After more than 2 months in a detention cell, I Made Eka Susila (32) who threatened his own uncle, was finally declared acquitted of all lawsuits on the basis of restorative justice by the Badung District Attorney, Bali.

The Head of the Badung District Attorney's Office, Imran Yusuf, stated that his party had terminated the case by prioritizing restorative justice against the suspect I Made Eka Susila who was suspected of violating Article 335 of the Criminal Code or threatening.

"The victim in this case is I Ketut Sudendi, who is the suspect's biological uncle," said Yusuf, Saturday, April 15.

Before restorative justice is approved by the Deputy Attorney General for general crimes, mediation or reconciliation efforts are carried out between the victim and the perpetrator by the prosecutor until an agreement is finally reached between the victim and the suspect.

"Which of them still have family relations as uncles and nephews," he added.

After reaching a peace agreement and making a virtual presentation in front of the Deputy Attorney General for general crimes, it was finally agreed that the prosecution of this case should be stopped by prioritizing restorative justice.

This decision was followed up by the Badung Kejari by issuing a Decision Letter on Termination of Prosecution of the Head of the Badung District Attorney Number 687/N.1.18/Eoh.2/04/2022 dated April 13, 2022 regarding the termination of prosecution of suspect I Made Eka Susila.

"That the suspect has apologized and regretted his actions, and the victim has fully forgiven the suspect's actions. This is what we must put forward, so that small cases like this can be resolved amicably," he said.

The main goal is to restore the situation between the victim and the suspect who still has family relations.

"So that in the future his family relationship will continue to run harmoniously," he said.

Previously, I Made Eka Susila was arrested by the Kuta Police, Bali, for threatening to stab his uncle I Ketut Sudendi (44).
