JAKARTA - Three Chinese astronauts who manned Shenzhou-13 returned to Earth safely on Saturday morning after setting a record for the longest time in orbit.
As reported by Antara, the capsule that houses the three astronauts touched the Dongfeng runway, which is in the middle of the Gobi Desert in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at exactly 09.56 local time (08.56 WIB).
The probe had previously traveled for about nine hours from China's space station.
The three astronauts, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu, carried out the Shenzhou-13 mission in orbit for six months. That is, they broke the Shenzhou-12 record, which was only 92 days.
The medical team confirmed that the three crew members were in good health.
The three astronauts emerged from the capsule, which landed in the desert bordering China with Mongolia and Russia at 11:05 a.m. and instantly adapted to Earth's gravity, the China Space Agency (CMSA) said.
After the successful Shenzhou-13 mission, the China Space Station will enter the construction phase in orbit with two lab modules to be added.
