Lost Searching For Lobster Since Monday, Nias Fisherman In Search Basarnas

JAKARTA - The Nias Basarnas is searching for Widio Dingrat (17), a fisherman from Labuhan Hiu Village, Pulau Batu District, South Nias Regency, North Sumatra, who was lost at sea while diving for lobster.

"The victim has been looking for lobster since April 11, 2022, and has not returned or been found until now, even though a search was carried out by residents until yesterday at 18.00 WIB," said Public Relations of the Nias Basarnas Asanimu Waruwu, quoted by Antara, Friday 15 April.

He said the victim was a fisherman who worked diving to find lobster in the waters of Labuhan Hiu, Pulau Batu Timur District.

However, since leaving for diving Monday, April 11 at 19.00 WIB, the victim has not returned, so residents have started searching. However, the search has not yielded results.

Therefore, the relatives of the victim L. Sarumaha contacted the Nias SAR Office to ask for help in searching for victims who had been missing since Monday 11 April.

"Receiving the report, our personnel immediately departed to search for the missing victims," he said.

To reach the location, the Nias Basarnas team traveled a distance of approximately 3 hours to Teluk Dalam and then from Teluk Dalam a 6 hour drive to Pulau Batu Timur, South Nias Regency.

The team also brought a number of equipment such as 1 unit DC car, Lcr+Mopel 40 Pk, communication equipment, medical equipment, water SAR equipment, GPS, and body bags.
