Hotman Paris Resigns From Peradi, Well-known Advocate Otto Hasibuan Is Still Considering It

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) emphasized that his organization is still considering Hotman Paris Hutapea's resignation letter from Peradi.

"There is a letter but we are considering whether it is granted or not. If we accept it, it violates Article 30 of the Advocates Law," said Otto Hasibuan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Although Hotman Paris's resignation letter has been submitted, according to Otto Hasibuan, the acceptance of Hotman Paris's resignation seems to be taking a long time.

The reason is, Peradi is still considering whether or not the issue of Hotman Paris' resignation is contrary to Article 30 of the Advocates Law. Therefore, he is still considering the matter.

"We have not yet answered whether the resignation is granted or not. We are observing that based on Article 30 of the Advocates Law, all advocates are obliged to become members of Peradi," said Otto.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Honorary Council of Peradi Center, Adardam Achyar, was reluctant to comment on the issue of Hotman Paris' resignation.

"A judge can only speak through a decision. We apologize with Peradi's notes because the verdict has been read openly, and Peradi as a citizen of course prioritizes public openness," said Adardam.
