Aceh Police Receives Refund Of Rp801.7 Million Scholarship Corruption Money From 35 Students

BANDA ACEH - Investigators of the Aceh Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate received a refund of state money from a corruption case totaling Rp801.7 million.

He said that investigators were continuing to track the flow of funds for alleged corruption in the distribution of the scholarships by examining the witnesses involved as well as students receiving education funds in the 2017 fiscal year.

Previously, investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at the Aceh Police investigated allegations of corruption in government scholarships. Aceh Province in the 2017 fiscal year with a value of IDR 22.3 billion.

The scholarship budget is placed in the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of Aceh Province. The scholarships were distributed to 803 recipients.

Based on the results of the investigation, there were 400 students who had the potential to be suspects because they received scholarships but did not meet the requirements as recipients. In fact, they found out that he did not meet the requirements as scholarship recipients.

The seven suspects had the initials SYR as the budget user (PA), FZ and RSL as the power user of the budget (KPA), FY as the technical implementing officer of the activity (PPTK), and SM, RDJ, and RK as the scholarship field coordinator.

Previously, to the Public Relations Division of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Winardy said that investigators gave the opportunity to hundreds of recipients who did not meet the requirements to return the scholarship money they received to the regional treasury.

"Investigators prioritize getting state losses returned rather than punishing scholarship recipients who do not meet these requirements," said Grand Commissioner Pol. Winardy

The Aceh Police have issued an appeal to the scholarship recipients who are not entitled to immediately return the money to the state treasury.

As a follow-up to the appeal, said Winardy, the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at the Aceh Police opened a post for refunding scholarships.

"We appreciate those who have returned the scholarship money because they are cooperative and respect the appeal of the Aceh Police. For those who have not returned, immediately go to the Ditreskrimsus post for the Aceh Police," he said.
