Residents Clash Occurs In Tual Maluku

AMBON - The Tual Resort Police (Polres), Southeast Maluku, together with the local government handled the clashes between the residents of Ohoibun Atas and Ohoibun Bawah.

This clash, which involved hundreds of youths, broke out again in Langgur at around 14.30 WIT. They threw stones at each other. It is not known whether there were any victims.

"We will work together with the local government, sub-district head, police chief and also related officials in Langgur to summon both parties to make a settlement," said Tual Police Chief AKBP Dax Emmanuelle Samson Manuputty as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.

The parties involved in the clash will meet to resolve the issue.

"We will ask first where the root of the problem is, what it looks like, so that in the future there will be no more things like this, a brawl between the two parties," he said.

"The issue is that if it's still confusing, some say it was from the upper Ohoibun who started first, some say it was from the lower Ohoibun who started this first, so later we will explore further what the problem is," he explained.

The police will act decisively in accordance with applicable law, if there is a crime in it.

"Of course, the Police will also act decisively in accordance with the applicable law. If it is indeed a criminal act, we will continue to process it," said Samson.

In addition, the police appealed to the people of Tual to exercise restraint and not to be provoked.

"Moreover, there are many brothers and sisters here, why make a fuss? That's something that shouldn't have happened," he said.
