Civil Service Police Unit Padang Reprimands 10 Restaurant Owners Who Are Open During The Day

PADANG - The Padang, West Sumatra Civil Service Police Unit reprimanded 10 restaurant owners who were caught serving customers eating on the spot during the day during the month of Ramadan.

"Based on a circular from the Mayor of Padang during Ramadan, restaurants are only allowed to open at 16.00 WIB, even though they only serve to be wrapped, but we found someone serving food on the spot before 16.00 WIB", said the Head of Padang City Civil Service Police Unit, Mursalim, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13th.

According to him, out of 10 restaurants that have been reprimanded, some have been reprimanded once and then reopened at noon so that they are again reprimanded.

"What we are rebuking is that the restaurant is open at 12.00 WIB and serves buyers eating on the spot", he said.

One of the restaurants that were reprimanded was in the Agus Salim Padang GOR Complex.

"I've been reprimanded twice and still stubbornly open during the day", he said.

The Head of Civil Service Police Unit emphasized that opening a lunch house to serve diners on the spot is an act that disturbs the public interest during the month of Ramadan.

Not only controlling restaurant owners who are open during the day, he said, the Padang Civil Service Police Unit routinely controls beggars who pretend to be scavengers.

"They operate a lot on the main road in Padang City, from Bagindo Azis Chan Street to Sudirman Street", he said.

The Padang Civil Service Police Unit sent a team starting at 16.00 WIB to bring order and dispel because the presence of beggars was considered to be disturbing public order.

"If the Civil Service Police Unit works optimally, there will be an orderly city so that residents and visitors will feel comfortable", he said.

Currently, Civil Service Police Unit has 400 personnel on duty in the field and is divided into three shifts.

"In carrying out our duties, we prioritize humanism but remain firm if someone is stubborn and violates the rules", he said.
