Hundreds Of PTIQ Jakarta Students Who Were Positive For COVID-19 Were Taken To The Athlete's House

JAKARTA - Around 200 students of the Jakarta College of Qur'an Science (PTIQ) students tested positive for COVID-19 at the same time.

"Yes, that's right, around 200 PTIQ students have tested positive for COVID-19," said Head of Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, Mundari, when confirmed, Monday, October 5.

Mundari said that currently hundreds of students were taken to the Kemayoran Athlete House, Central Jakarta, to undergo isolation. They are patients with no symptoms and mild symptoms.

"They were taken to the Athlete's House with 3 to 5 buses. The buses take them back and forth, because one bus can only accommodate 15 people," said Mundari.

Mundari explained that hundreds of PTIQ students were known to be positive based on the results of contact tracing conducted by the DKI Health Office.

"It is the Health Office who knows, based on the results of tracing and swab tests," he said.

Some time ago, transmission within a community scope also occurred in the Dormitory of Bethel Indonesia Theological High School, Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

This hostel is a cluster of COVID-19 transmission in Jakarta. Because, as many as 36 students in the dormitory were confirmed positive for the corona virus which occurred in mid-April.

The chronology of COVID-19 transmission in the Bethel hostel cluster began with a hospital examining the symptoms of one of the dormitory residents. As a result, the patient tested positive for COVID-19.

The DKI Health Office then conducted a contact tracing. Of the 108 students examined, the results were 36 positive for COVID-19. Students infected with the corona virus are treated at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital Kemayoran Athlete.
