DEMAK - A man with the initials SW, a resident of Tambakroto Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency, was forced to languish in a detention cell at the Demak Police Headquarters. The 35-year-old man was arrested by the Demak Satreskrim Resmob Unit after stealing two bags containing money and a cellphone in the car.

The theft was carried out by SW in front of PT Bahana Buana Box, Jalan Raya Semarang - Demak, Batu Village, Karangtengah District, Demak Regency.

Demak Police Chief AKBP Budi Adhy Buono said the theft was disclosed after the victim, Irfan (30), a resident of Semarang Regency, reported the theft of his bag to the Demak Police.

"We received a report on Sunday, April 3, 2022 and have managed to arrest the perpetrator. Based on information, suspect SW confirmed that he had stolen goods from the victim's car, Irfan's brother, at night when the victim was fast asleep in the car," said Demak Police Chief AKBP Budi, in a written statement. , Tuesday 12 April

In carrying out his actions, SW is usually accompanied by his colleague, AK, who is still being chased by officers. SW is in charge of driving a motorbike, while the theft is carried out by AK.

In addition, SW also monitors the surrounding conditions when AK launches his actions.

From the results of the investigation, said Budi, the perpetrator admitted that he was looking for a vehicle victim who was resting by parking on the side of the road or at a gas station along the Pantura Demak road. If the owner of the vehicle sleeps, the perpetrator takes his belongings, but if the owner of the vehicle does not sleep, the perpetrator will pretend to ask for parking money.

"The suspect has committed the crime of theft since 2018 and if it is counted hundreds of times because in one week he can commit two to three acts of theft. The proceeds from stealing are used by the suspect for online gambling," he said.

From SW's hands, the police obtained evidence in the form of two boxes of Samsung Galaxy J7 prime type cellphones and Xiaomi Redmi 10 type cellphones. One unit of Yamaha Nmax motorcycle black color Nopol H 5460 XE. 2,500,000 IDR, and 4 Malaysian Ringgits.

"For his actions, the suspect was threatened with theft with a weight, Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of 7 years in prison," he concluded.
