Central Java Police Chief Grateful For Student Action To Run In An Orderly Way: Thank God It Was Safe

SEMARANG – Student demonstrations held in a number of areas in Central Java ran in an orderly and conducive manner. This was conveyed by the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Ahmad Luthfi through the Head of Public Relations Kombes Pol Iqbal Alqudusy.

"Alhamdulillah, the demonstrations held in a number of areas in Central Java were safe and conducive so that they did not tarnish the sanctity of the month of Ramadan by carrying out anarchic actions in the midst of expressing opinions," said Iqbal in a written statement, Monday, April 11.

Iqbal explained that student demonstrations in Central Java were held in 6 cities/regencies, including Semarang City in front of the Central Java Governor's Office by HMI Semarang City, Pati Regency in front of the Pati DPRD Office by PMII, Rembang Regency in front of the Rembang DPRD office by HMI Kom Cengho Rembang, Grobogan Regency in front of the Grobogan DPRD Office by PMII, Regency. Banyumas in front of the Unwiku Campus by Unwiku students, and Surakarta City in front of the Surakarta City DPRD office by the United People's Alliance (ARB).

Iqbal said, in general, the demonstration took place in an orderly manner. In the city of Semarang, he continued, as a barometer of the implementation of the demonstration in Central Java, the participants of the demonstration voluntarily dispersed when the call to prayer for Maghrib was heard.

Not only that, the protesters immediately stormed the mineral water and broke their fast with members of the National Police who carried out security measures.

The Regional Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi also expressed his appreciation to all security personnel who have provided services and security for today's demonstration.

"The smooth activities of expressing opinions cannot be separated from the preparations and steps taken by officers in the field in guarding and securing the Unras action so that it runs safely and smoothly," he added.
