Viral TNI Service Cars Used By Civilians, Puspomad: On Loan To Retired Military Police

JAKARTA - Videos of civilians allegedly using official cars belonging to the Indonesian Army and the Crowded Army on social media. The Army Military Police Center (Puspomad) said that the car was registered under number 3688-34 even though it was not an orhanik Puspomad vehicle and was currently being borrowed by retired Military Police officers.

"From the results of the preliminary examination of the registration number, the vehicle was lent to Col. Cpm. (Ret.) Bagus Heru Sucahyo from 2017 to the present at the request of the person concerned," said Commander of the Indonesian Army Military Police (Danpuspomad) Lieutenant General TNI Dodik. Wijanarko, through his written statement quoted on Saturday, September 3.

He said a retired military police officer was allowed to borrow or use a registration number to be used within a certain time limit and capacity. However, vehicles with such registration numbers are not allowed to be used by unauthorized persons.

Furthermore, Dodik said that his party was currently checking Suherman Winata alias Ahon in the viral video. The green Toyota Fortuner and its registration number are now secured.

"Against Col. Cpm. Bagus Heru Sucahyo because he is domiciled in Bandung, he will be present on Monday, October 5 to be asked for information and to show the completeness of vehicle documents in the form of BPKB and STNK," he said.

"If later all the results of the investigation are obtained, an initial evidence of violation of the law will be processed strictly in accordance with applicable law," he added.

It is known that in the video circulating, someone recorded a civilian who was suspected of using an official TNI AD car to buy food at a restaurant. In the video, the civilian claims to be a member of the TNI.

"Why are you wondering. The only one who has the right to ask me is the military police," said the man who was later called Suherman.

Not satisfied with Suherman's answer, a man who took the picture then asked for the completeness of the vehicle documents used. After continuing to be pressed, Suherman later admitted that he was not a member of the TNI and what he had previously said was just a joke.

"Not a member. That was just kidding," he said before closing the car window and stepping on the gas.
