Jasa Marga Will Apply To Open And Close Rest Areas During Lebaran Homecoming

JAKARTA - Jasa Marga will enforce the opening and closing of Rest and Waitress Places (TIP) or rest areas if there is congestion in the rest area during the homecoming and return of Lebaran this year.

"We will enforce opening and closing, if there is congestion in a rest area, we will close it. We ask for the understanding of toll road users to comply with officers' directions," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 11. .

Heru appealed to travelers who use toll roads to limit the use of rest areas.

"Later, so that we can together use this rest area facility in the midst of a fairly high level of toll traffic volume, we hope that toll road users can limit the use of rest areas," he said.

For example, when making purchases or ordering food at rest areas, toll road users are advised to order take away food or not eat on the spot.

In addition, Jasa Marga also urges travelers who use toll roads to continue to follow health protocols while using rest areas, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Regarding the readiness of rest areas when going home and back for Lebaran this year, Jasa Marga will alert and add officers, both security and cleaning officers, as well as improve some services in rest areas, such as toilets and so on. And for the type B rest area, the addition of modular fuel and so on.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono asked Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) to provide as many temporary toilet facilities as possible in Rest and Service Areas or rest areas.

According to the Minister of PUPR, the community will be enthusiastic about going home this year, considering that they have not been going home for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore, the Ministry of PUPR pays attention to improving the service of toll road users in rest areas by improving various service facilities, including MSMEs, clean toilets, provision of infrastructure and facilities for the disabled, worship facilities, and garden arrangements.
