JAKARTA - Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo appealed to the public to avoid the Monas area and the DPR - MPR Building because there were student demonstrations demanding President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Monday 11 April.

"We, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, urge the public, today until tonight, to avoid these two areas because there will be traffic congestion (congestion)," said Kombes Sambodo to VOI in the Horse Statue area, Monas, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 11, afternoon.

Sambodo detailed, areas that need to be avoided by the public include Monas, the Horse Statue, Harmoni, Medan Merdeka Barat, Medan Merdeka Selatan, Medan Merdeka Utara and Gambir.

"It should be avoided so as not to get stuck in traffic jams and please look for other alternative routes," he urged.

However, to unravel the congestion caused by the demonstration, Kombes Sambodo deployed as many as 200 personnel from the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya to regulate traffic in the State Palace area, Central Jakarta.

"200 Ditlantas personnel are here (the State Palace area)," he said.

Furthermore, Kombes Sambodo said the number of mass demonstrations held in the Horse Statue area was 1,500 people.

In addition to the Monas Horse Statue area, Kombes Sambodo also deployed 100 troops to the DPR - MPR RI building.

"In the DPR-MPR there are 100 personnel. So the total number of Traffic members is 300 personnel," he said.

He also appealed to the public to stay away from the DPR - MPR building area because there will be traffic jams.

"The DPR-MPR area, starting from Senayan, Gate Pemuda, Asia Africa, Slipi, Palmerah and so on, should be avoided from morning until night so as not to get stuck in traffic jams," he said.
