DKI Pemprov Permits One Hotel To Be The Location For Isolation Of Paid COVID-19 Patients

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) has allowed the Pomelotel hotel in Patra Kuningan, South Jakarta, as an isolation location for COVID-19 patients.

However, Head of the DKI Jakarta Disparekraf Tourism Business Section, Raymond, said that patients who want to isolate at this hotel are charged a fee or paid.

"The Pomelotel Hotel has been approved to be the location for isolation. We only open applications for isolation hotels, but for a fee. So, it is not what the government pays or subsidies," Raymond said when contacted, Friday, October 2.

Regarding the tariff for isolation costs, Raymond admitted that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has not set a minimum price limit.

"We do not set prices," he said.

Raymond insists that paid isolation hotels like Pomelotel are purely doing business with patients. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government only gives permission for isolation locations with a number of requirements.

"Applications for entry through the Marketing and Tourism Industry Sector will check their eligibility with the DKI Health Office," said Raymond.

According to Raymond, patients with the category of people without symptoms (OTG) and mild symptoms who undergo isolation at Pomelotel are referral patients from one of the private hospitals, Medistra Hospital.

"I don't really understand what kind of cooperation with the medistra is like that. But the point is, all the procedures for patients enter through Medistra, I see. After that, they just enter the hotel," he concluded.
