JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PAN faction, Zita Anjani, supports Formula E tickets being sold at low prices so that they are more accessible to the public. The plan is that the committee will sell 50 thousand Formula E tickets with prices starting at Rp. 350 thousand.

"I really agree with the discourse on cheap ticket prices so that citizens, all walks of life can enjoy it," Zita told reporters, Sunday, April 10.

Zita regrets that the electric car racing event is only enjoyed by the people of Indonesia through television channels because ticket prices are expensive.

Moreover, he said, according to the UK's Sport Management Database research, Formula E fans in Indonesia reached 3.3 million people.

"As many as 54 percent are in Jakarta, West Java and Banten. Of course it would be very unfortunate if the international event was held in their own country, but the host actually watched it from television because ticket prices were expensive," he continued.

The advisor to the PAN faction of the DKI DPRD assessed that Formula E is not just a matter of profit and loss. Because if this event is a success, said Zita, Jakarta will definitely get praise and trust from the world which cannot be achieved by relying on rupiah alone.

"If this event is successful, it runs smoothly, Indonesia, especially Jakarta, will certainly benefit. We will be trusted by the world, be in the spotlight, receive praise, and be recognized. That is a value that cannot be obtained from rupiah," he said.

Zita admitted that she did not have a problem if the Formula E event did not return its investment in the first year. He then compared it with the Mandalika MotoGP event.

"For example, the Mandalika MotoGP, the same, the first year has not yet returned the investment. Not only in Indonesia, in countries that hold Formula E, they also admit that in the early years, there must be no profit. It's the same as business," he said.
