Tangerang - Another accident on the Jakarta Merak Toll Road. A Suzuki Carry minibus caught fire as it passed by. Precisely at Km 32, Tangerang Regency, on Saturday morning, April 9th.

Head of Emergency and Logistics at BPBD Tangerang Regency, Abdul Munir in Tangerang, Saturday said the incident occurred at around 09.00 WIB when the car was traveling from the direction of Jakarta-Merak. "The fire team managed to extinguish the fire for about an hour at the location," Munir said, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the cause of the fire was suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit in the vehicle. "The source of the fire was from a car's electrical spark. Incidentally, a diesel-laden car using jerry cans caused the fire to spread quickly," he said.

He revealed, in handling the fire team from BPBD Tangerang Regency deployed a pump car unit with five personnel to extinguish the fire that burned the car.

"For handling, the Balaraja Postal Firefighters team, BPBD Tangerang Regency, has deployed 1 unit of firefighters and 5 personnel," he said.

He also said that there were no casualties in the incident, but material losses were estimated at tens of millions of rupiah. "If the loss is estimated at tens of millions of rupiah," he said.
