GUNUNG KIDUL - The Gunung Kidul Resort Police is increasing surveillance by carrying out patrols to tackle criminal acts during Ramadan 2022. Especially during the vulnerable hours from before the tarawih prayer until the dawn prayer.

The Head of Public Relations of the Gunung Kidul Police, AKP Suryanto, said that in accordance with the direction of the Head of the Gunung Kidul Resort Police, Aditya Galayudha Ferdiansyah, patrols at vulnerable hours were requested to be increased to prevent crime.

"Like the previous year, crime usually increases during Ramadan. Therefore, the Gunung Kidul Resort Police formed a team to carry out patrols to provide a sense of security for the community," said Suryanto in Gunung Kidul, Wednesday, April 6, as reported by Antara.

He said that until now there has been no conspicuous crime in this area. The most common crime is the theft of a motorcycle. Theft often occurs during the tarawih prayers until dawn.

He said increased patrols were carried out at vulnerable hours such as before breaking the fast until dawn prayers, including patrols to anticipate illegal racing carried out by teenagers in Rongkop, Girisubo, to Paliyan. "There are certain targets to anticipate illegal racing," he said.

In addition, continued Suryanto, the Task Force for Food and Fuel Crime at the Gunung Kidul Police continued to monitor the development of the supply of these commodities to the public.

He appealed to the public not to hesitate to report to the police if they found a crime case. "People can immediately report to the nearest police," he said.
