KALSEL - The Food Task Force (Satgas) South Kalimantan (Kalsel) revealed that so far it has not found a cooking oil mafia in the South Kalimantan area.

This was stated by the Head of the South Kalimantan Food Task Force, Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) H Suhasto when meeting with the chairman of the local provincial DPRD, H Supian HK, in Banjarmasin, Wednesday 6 April.

"Both as the Food Task Force and the South Kalimantan Police, we continue to monitor and take action if there is hoarding or misuse," said Suhasto, who also serves as Director of Criminal Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police.

Regarding the findings of the South Kalimantan Police regarding the hoarding of packaged cooking oil in the Banjarmasin City area, he stated that this was only a casuistry, not a mafia.

One of those found was related to the stockpiling of 31,320 liters of cooking oil in Tatah Layap Village, Banjar Regency on Friday, March 4.

"Therefore, if the public finds out that there is hoarding or irregularities in terms of food, report it to us, we will immediately follow up," said Suhasto.

On the same occasion, Head of the South Kalimantan Trade Service (Disdag) H Birhasani revealed that the supply of cooking oil in his province reached 100 tons.

"This amount is estimated to be sufficient for the needs of the people of South Kalimantan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr," said Birhasani.
