Police Reveal Autopsy Results For Widow Of Jemiten Who Was Murdered And Then Drowned In The Brantas River

TULUNGAGUNG - Tulungagung Resort Police, East Java, revealed the results of an autopsy on the body of a middle-aged widow who was found dead floating in the Brantas River, the border of the Blitar-Tulungagung region.

"(The results) of the autopsy have been released after forensic surgery was carried out at the Bhayangkara Kediri Hospital," said Tulungagung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Agung Kurnia Putra, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

There are two possible causes of death, the victim identified as Jeminten (48), a resident of Tuliskriyo Village, Blitar Regency.

The first was due to an incision in the abdomen as long as 20 centimeters, and due to drowning. "There are indications that the victim was still alive when he was dumped into the Brantas River," he said.

This allegation arose because the autopsy results found water in his respiratory tract. In addition, the police also found traces of snares on both hands of the victim.

When found, Jeminten's hands were tied with plastic ropes. This plastic rope is suspected to be a weight for the corpse to keep it drowned. On Jeminten's body, several bruises were found.

"These bruises are thought to have been caused by the impact of a rock when the victim drowned," he said.

With these results, there is a strong suspicion that the victim had experienced violence before he died. Officers also took a sample of the victim's genital irrigation fluid. This sample is to find out whether the victim also experienced sexual violence.
