The Attorney General's Office Examines 4 Garuda Indonesia Officials Regarding Corruption Cases

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has examined four high-ranking officials of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as witnesses related to allegations of corruption in the procurement of aircraft for PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2021.

"The team of Investigating Prosecutors at the Directorate of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office conducted an examination of four witnesses related to allegations of corruption," said the Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana quoted by Antara, Monday, April 4.

The witness being examined is a witness with the initials IS as President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk since January 23, 2020. The Attorney General's Office has examined IS regarding the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2021.

An examination with a similar purpose was also carried out by the Attorney General's Office on the witness with the initials WA as Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2013, the witness with the initials BR as Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia (persero) Tbk in 2013.

The fourth witness was a witness with the initials VY as Senior Manager Marketing Research of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. 2005-2015 years.

"The examination of witnesses was carried out to strengthen evidence and to complete the filing in the case of alleged criminal acts of corruption in the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2011-2021," said Sumedana.

This case involves 3 suspects, namely Vice President Treasury Management PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2005-2012 Albert Burhan (AB), Vice President Strategic Management Office PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2011-2012 Setijo Awibowo (SA), and Executive Project Manager Aircraft Delivery PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk 2009-2014 Agus Wahjudo (AW).

"Three suspects have been named and three of them have been detained," said Ketut Sumedana.
