Java-Bali PPKM Gets Extended, 93 Percent Of Regencies/Cities Entering Level 1 And 2

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java-Bali was extended for the next two weeks.

Luhut said, there was a decrease in the PPKM assessment level in a number of regencies/cities. Where, currently the majority of regions in Java-Bali have PPKM Level 1 and 2 statuses.

Regions implementing Level 3 PPKM also experienced a decrease from 39 to 9 districts/cities. Also, there are no regions that apply Level 4 PPKM.

"93 percent of the regencies/cities in Java and Bali are already at Level 1 and 2. Only 9 districts/cities are still at Level 3," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, April 4.

Meanwhile, the details of the regional level assessment in Java-Bali in the extension of the PPKM this time will be contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs.

Luhut said the government currently sees that the condition of transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Indonesia is currently in a controlled position.

In particular, the Java-Bali region also experienced a significant decline in all aspects, from confirmed cases, hospitalizations, to the death rate in almost all provinces in Java-Bali.

"All provinces in Java-Bali today experienced a decrease in cases ranging from 96 percent to 98 percent compared to the peak of Omicron cases some time ago," he said.
