JAYAPURA - The Keerom Resort Police (Polres) in Papua arrested S alias B (49) the owner of 537 rounds of ammunition of various calibers along with five homemade weapons.

Keerom Police Chief AKBP Christian Aer said S was arrested on Wednesday (30/3), after the police received information regarding the presence of residents in possession of ammunition and firearms.

"There are allegations that S is the perpetrator of the sale and manufacture of homemade firearms," said Aer, quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 2.

The place for making homemade firearms is located in Arso I, Jalan Melati Timur, Arso Barat District, Keerom Regency.

"Investigators have asked for statements from several witnesses," said AKBP Aer accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the Keerom Police, AKP La Ambo.

The evidence seized were eight black SS1 firearms magazines, 229 9 mm ammunition, 10 3.8 mm revolver ammunition, five 50 mm caliber ammunition, 15 7.62 mm Mosser ammunition, seven rounds of ammunition of the 7.62 mm Sahara V2 type firearm, 254 rounds of 5.56 mm type 5 TJ ammunition, and nine rounds of 762 mm US Carabin ammunition.

Then two rounds of ammunition of 11 mm caliber FN firearm, one unit of revolver type assembled weapon and ammunition, one PCP gun and telescope, one laser telescope, two PCP silencer, one SS1 type firearm piston latch, three Papporo type homemade guns. , one telescope, and six rounds of 22 mm cis fire ammunition.

"Investigators are still examining both S and witnesses to reveal the origin of the ammunition and the purpose of making the homemade firearms," said AKBP Christian Aer.
