Blocked By Clouds, NU East Java Does Not See The Hilal At 27 Points

SURABAYA - Monitoring of the rukyatul hilal in East Java has yielded no results. The Regional Manager (PW) of the East Java Falakiyah Nahdlatul Ulama Institute (LFNU) stated that no one had succeeded in seeing the new moon at 27 new moon points spread across East Java.

"After we tried to monitor the new moon, no one could see the new moon at 27 points in East Java, because it was cloudy and raining," said the head of the East Java PWNU LF, Shofiullah alias Gus Shofi, Friday, April 1.

Gus Shofi said that in other areas throughout Indonesia the results of the rukyatul hilal were the same as the LF PWNU East Java, none of which had succeeded in seeing the hilal. Thus, the age of the month of Sha'ban is fulfilled (istikmal) 30 days, so that 1 Ramadan falls on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

"There are areas outside East Java that have managed to see the new moon, so 1 Ramadan will fall on Saturday tomorrow. While we are waiting for the results from LF PBNU, about when we will fast Ramadan," he said.

According to Gus Shof, LF PWNU East Java performed the most rukyatul hilal with a total of 27 points in East Java. This is because the regeneration of the LF PWNU East Java is going well.

"So many have mastered the science of astronomy who then want to do rukyatul hilal in their respective areas," he said.
