Government Introduces Maudy Ayunda As Government Spokesperson For The G20 Presidency

JAKARTA - Actress and singer Ayunda Faza Maudya or known as Maudy Ayunda was introduced as the Government Spokesperson for the G20 Presidency.

Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate said that Maudy was chosen as a spokesman because he is a millennial public figure. It is hoped that young people will become interested in the issues brought up in the activities of the G20 Presidency.

"In order to support the implementation of public communications for the G20 Indonesia Presidency, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Maudy Ayunda as the Government Spokesperson for the G20 Indonesia Presidency," Johnny said on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, Thursday, March 31.

Johnny said Maudy is a graduate of the University of Oxford and Stanford University. In addition, he also mastered foreign languages so that it is expected to facilitate his duties as a spokesperson.

Maudy Ayunda will also be tasked with conveying information related to the implementation of the G20 Indonesia Summit which will be attended by leaders of G20 countries. In addition, he will also prepare the progress of working group meetings to the G20 Presidency side event.

"So that the Indonesian people and the world community can follow the development and substance of the Indonesian G20 Presidency," said Johnny.

Johnny said Maudy as a spokesman also had an important role. Moreover, Indonesia is now believed to be the organizer of this international event.

"This opportunity must be utilized as well as possible for the benefit of the global community and in particular for the benefit of our society, our nation and our country," he stressed.

"For this reason, the spokesperson holds a very important function. Socialization and promotion of the G20 Indonesia Presidency need to be carried out optimally," added Johnny.

Meanwhile, Maudy Ayunda said he was happy with the opportunity given by the government. "I am honored to be trusted to carry out the task of disseminating information regarding the G20 Presidency of Indonesia," he said.
