The Case Of The Disappearance Of 4 Minors Since 27 June 2021 Has Not Been Revealed NTT Police, TRUK-F Complains To Police Headquarters

MAUMRE - The Flores Volunteer Team for Humanity (TRUK-F) and the Sikka Human Rights Network asked the National Police Headquarters to take over the handling of the case of four children who went missing mysteriously from the Santa Monika Shelter in NTT.

This was conveyed by the envoy from Truck-F and the Sikka Human Rights Network, Sister Fransiska Imakulata at the online press conference "Report on the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) Against 17 Children in Maumere," Wednesday, March 30.

"TRUK-F and the Human Rights Network in Sikka have taken a firm stance by advocating at the national level so that the National Police Headquarters can be actively involved in handling this case," said Sister Fransiska as quoted by Antara.

His party requested that this case be handled seriously because the problem of trafficking in persons in NTT is quite high. This case began when 17 children were detained by the Sub-Directorate IV Team for Youth, Children and Women (Renakta) of the NTT Police Ditreskrimum while raiding a nightclub in Maumere City on June 14, 2021.

The seventeen children consist of four children from Bandung, 12 children from Cianjur and one child from Karawang. They were arrested from four nightclubs in Maumere; eight children are suspected of working at Bintang Pub, 5 children are suspected to be workers at Pub 999 and 1 child is suspected to be working at Libra Pub.

The seventeen children were then placed in the Santa Monica TRUK Shelter for assistance. Then four children mysteriously disappeared from the shelter on June 27, 2021.

This case has been reported to the NTT Police and the Sikka Police, but the four children have not yet been found. "The NTT Police and the Sikka Resort Police seem incapable or less motivated to handle this case thoroughly," he said.

It suspects the four missing children are related to the owner of the Libra Pub and the owner of Pub 999.

Fransiska added that so far, in the case of the alleged TIP of 17 children, only one of the three perpetrators has been prosecuted, namely R, the owner of Pub Bintang and Shasari.

"The other perpetrators have not been touched by the law at all. In fact they are still freely opening their pubs," he said.
