Dor! Polrestabes Medan Shoots Dead Thief PDAM Employee Mode

MEDAN - By deceiving the mode of being a PDAM employee to trick his victims, one of the four perpetrators of the theft was shot dead by members of the Satreskrim Polrestabes Medan in North Sumatra.

The head of the Medan Polrestabes Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Muhammad Firdaus, said the identities of the four perpetrators were I (49), DIS (43), T (54) and EC (43).

EC had to be shot in the chest and eventually died because he fought and tried to grab the officer's weapon. "Officers took the EC perpetrator to the hospital, but his life could not be saved," he said in Medan, Wednesday, March 30. Firdaus said the arrest of the four perpetrators was based on reports from residents of the East Medan District who lost tens of millions of money and their gold on Thursday, March 24.

At that time a group of men came to the victim's house and claimed to be PDAM officers. After they left, the victim realized that her money was Rp. 80 million and her gold had disappeared.

"The loss is estimated at Rp. 183,425.00. From this report, our officers conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the perpetrators," he said, as reported by Antara.

Based on the results of the interrogation, the perpetrators admitted that they had stolen six times with the same mode in Medan with a total loss of Rp. 540 million for the victims.

The evidence confiscated were two motorbikes, two jackets, three PDAM helmets, three measuring instruments, one camera, six mobile phones, CCTV footage and Rp21 million in cash. "The perpetrators are subject to Article 363 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code with a threat of nine years in prison," he concluded.
