Kang Emil Sets Five West Java Areas To Enter The Red Zone

JAKARTA - Chairman of the West Java COVID-19 Response Acceleration Task Force (GTPP), Ridwan Kamil, said that there are five areas that are red zones or have a high risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Kang Emil, his nickname, revealed that the five areas are Bogor City, Bekasi Regency, Depok City, Cirebon City, and Cirebon Regency. So that his party will carry out active tightening in the five regions.

"Areas with a red zone in West Java this week are Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency, Cirebon City, and Cirebon Regency," said Kang Emil in a press conference after the West Java GTPP COVID-19 weekly meeting at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, dialnsir Antara, Monday, September 28.

Then, he said, the West Java Provincial Government is also focusing on one cluster of the spread of COVID-19 in Kuningan Regency, namely in a number of Islamic boarding schools.

"Currently in West Java there is a pesantren cluster in Kuningan Regency, which this week we will carry out mass testing according to the pattern, namely in the Ciayumajakuning area. Because in some of these areas there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases," he said.

He said that Kuningan Regency itself had implemented Micro-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBM) at the pesantren, village, and sub-district levels and the PSBM pattern had so far been considered effective in overcoming COVID-19 in West Java.

Meanwhile, related to the cluster of COVID-19 spread in Islamic boarding schools, he said, this was due to the fact that students or teachers in the pesantren were still out and about.

According to him, this is because the pesantren also has a public school where students and teachers do not live or live in the pesantren.

"If it is a resident, it is relatively controlled according to reports. However, there are cases where it is mixed with those of a public school, and the person does not live in the pesantren area," said Ridwan Kamil.

Meanwhile, West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum has started coordination again in implementing the COVID-19 prevention health protocol in the pesantren with pesantren managers and hundreds of kiai.

The Deputy Governor of Uu said that this week the testing through the COVID-19 swab test would be focused on a number of Islamic boarding schools.

Overall the reproductive rate of COVID-19 in West Java as a standard for reading epidemiology is still in the range of 1.04 and this indicates that the rate of transmission is relatively under control, said Uu Ruzhanul Ulum.
