Update On COVID-19 As Of September 28: New Cases 3,509, Heal, Up 3,856

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 32,189 specimens were examined with the results of 3,509 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 278,722 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, September 28.

Today's cases increased by 3,856, so a total of 206,870 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 87 people and a total of 10,473 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 898 new cases and a total of 71,339 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java, which has 489 new cases with a total of 21,443 cases. Central Java has 304 new cases and a total of 21,930 cases. East Java has 284 new cases and a total of 43,174 cases. Meanwhile, Riau has 254 new cases and a total of 7,034 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,328 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 378 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 307 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 201 recovered cases.

Then, there are 5 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are West Kalimantan, Maluku, West Sulawesi, Bangka Belitung, and East Nusa Tenggara.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,239,244. In detail, 3,187,560 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 51,684 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.4 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 131,361 people. At present, 497 districts / cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
