Face-to-face Schools In Surabaya 100 Percent, But Must Get Parental Permission

SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government, East Java stated that the implementation of 100 percent face-to-face learning (PTM) for PAUD, TK, SD and SMP levels starting on Monday, March 28 must obtain parental approval.

"Bismillah, 100 percent PTM will be held starting Monday, March 28 tomorrow and of course with parental approval. Hopefully, students can interact with their peers and learn to work together to foster empathy for others," said the Mayor of Surabaya. Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, reported by Antara, Sunday, March 27.

He explained that the 100 percent PTM was held in Surabaya based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) No. 18 of 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali, which was set on March 21, which stated that the City of Surabaya had officially implemented PPKM Level 1.

Therefore, he said, the Surabaya City Education Office (Dispendik) immediately followed up on the Inmendagri Number 18 of 2022, by issuing a Circular (SE) Number 421/8231/436.7.1/2022 concerning the Notification of Face-to-Face Learning Schedules, which were addressed to PNF Early Childhood Units, Principals of Public/Private Elementary Schools, and Heads of Public/Private Junior High Schools in the "City of Heroes".

Head of the Surabaya City Dispendik Yusuf Masruh explained, 100 percent PTM in Surabaya is also based on a Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 05/KB/20221, Number 1347 of 2021, Number Hk.0 1.08/Menkes/667/2021, Number 443-5847 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for Implementation of Learning in the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic. According to him, PTM requirements that must be met include learning to be carried out every day, the number of students 100 percent of the classroom capacity, students who take part in PTM must obtain permission from their parents.

In addition, he continued, the length of study is a maximum of six hours of lessons per day and the education unit ensures that each student gets learning services according to their respective conditions.

"Thanks to the hard work and mutual cooperation of all parties, PTM will be carried out 100 percent in accordance with the 4 Ministerial Decree. Hopefully, learning interaction activities between teachers and students can run optimally again, to create great leaders in the future," said Yusuf Masruh.
