Central Kalimantan Governor: Cooperation With Bali, Tourism Becomes Priority Sector

JAKARTA - Central Kalimantan Governor Sugianto Sabran said tourism was a priority sector for the cooperation carried out with the Bali Provincial Government.

"Our first priority sector in this collaboration is the development of tourism and cultural potential," said Sugianto in a press statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 26.

Today he and the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster signed a joint agreement on development cooperation and regional potential development.

Sugianto wants cooperation in the development and development of various regional potentials, especially the tourism sector, to further accelerate the acceleration of regional development and improve the welfare of the people of the two regions.

He explained, Bali's tourism potential is known to various corners of the world. Meanwhile, Central Kalimantan also has great tourism potential, including a tourist destination for orangutan habitat, namely Tanjung Puting National Park.

In addition, Central Kalimantan also has the Sebangau National Park and other tourism potentials, such as rivers, beaches and seas, and is increasingly strategic as an area adjacent to the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan.

"Based on this, I think Central Kalimantan deserves to be Bali's tourism partner in the future," he said.

It is also possible to cooperate with direct flights from Pangkalan Bun-Bali to make it easier for tourists to access Tanjung Puting National Park, as well as other interesting destinations.

He further said that this meeting was very strategic because the joint agreement signed today is the basis for synergizing programs and optimizing the utilization of the potential of each region.

Cooperation in the development and development of regional potential consists of sectors, namely tourism and culture, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), trade, empowerment of rural communities, fisheries and marine affairs, agriculture and animal husbandry, and others.

Then Sugianto asked each regional apparatus to actively move to follow up on the initial agreement between the two regions that had been established.
