What Form Of Forestry Technology 4.0 Do You Want To Implement In IKN?

JAKARTA - Acting Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources at Bappenas, Arifin Rudiyanto, hopes that technology 4.0 for forestry can be applied in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. What does it look like?

"God willing, technology 4.0 for forestry will be very good if it can be applied in the development of the capital city of the archipelago as a forest city. Of course, in achieving this target, collective efforts and support from multiple parties are needed to jointly conserve forests and increase the role of forests in sustainable development," said Arifin Rudiyanto at the National Seminar on Digital Transformation Supporting Forestry Innovation 4.0 for a Green Economy and Saving the Earth at the Manggala Wanabakti Building Auditorium at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Jakarta, Thursday, March 24, quoted from Antara.

He said Forestry 4.0 aims to optimize forest management in a sustainable manner through the application of forestry technology.

Technology 4.0 is used as an accelerator in managing forests so that they are able to realize digital-based planning and data retrieval, more precise management and monitoring so as to increase the effectiveness of forest management activities, especially for production activities.

Arifin said the involvement of the government, non-government, community, private sector, and development partners was crucial to support holistic and integrated forestry 4.0 management.

According to him, currently technology 4.0 has not been massively applied in several development fields in Indonesia, especially in the forestry sector.

On the other hand, forest management activities require technology-based policy breakthroughs that can help solve current forest governance problems.

Forest management activities also require data that covers a wide geographical area, is integrated at all management levels and must be available in a timely manner.

Therefore, digital tools are needed to enable more effective forest management through accurate data that can help understand the phenomena that occur.

Arifin said Indonesia had gone through two stages towards the forestry management target of 4.0. The first phase consists of identifying the needs of the forestry sector and the potential of technology and developing a road map.

The second phase of the implementation of forestry resource development 4.0 is related to technology, infrastructure and human resources, and gradually disseminates research results and contributes to forest conservation.

The development of technology and information systems can support the ability to monitor forest ecosystems, create dissemination of research results and contribute to biodiversity conservation.
