Here's How To Get Internet Quota Help For Online Learning

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology officially distributed free internet quota assistance for online learning.

This quota is given to students, ranging from Early Childhood Education (PAUD), elementary schools, middle schools, to college students. In addition, educators also receive this quota assistance.

Mendikbud Nadiem Makarim explained, the requirements for students to receive quota assistance, first must have an active cellphone number to register.

"Student numbers, parents, family members, or guardians must be registered in the Dapodik application. For students, registered in the PDDikti application," said Nadiem in a virtual press conference, Friday, September 25.

Especially for students, Nadiem requires that the quota is only obtained by students who are active in lectures or are completing a double degree and have a study plan card in the current semester.

Then, for educators at the PAUD and secondary primary education levels, they must have an active number and be registered in the Dapodik application for school educators and PDDikti for lecturers.

"Educators must have an active status in the 2020-2021 school year and have a NIDN, NIDK, or NUP registration number, and of course have an active cellphone number," said Nadiem.

Nadiem continued, the initial mechanism for the quota distribution process was the data collection of cellphone numbers by the education unit operator on the Dapodik and PDDikti applications.

Then, operators carry out verification and validation of cellphone numbers by cellular operators at their telephone companies.

"From here it is known whether this number is active, inactive, or not found," he said.

Next, the head of the education unit uploads a statement of absolute responsibility for the SPTJM. Finally, the operator will update the cellphone number that has turned inactive and not found, and the quota is sent directly to the recipient.

For information, the government has poured out a budget of IDR 7.2 trillion to implement the free internet quota assistance program. The quota is given four times, from September to December.

PAUD students will receive assistance of 20GB per month divided by 5GB general quota and 15GB study quota. Meanwhile, SD, SMP and SMA students will receive a subsidy of 35GB per month, divided into 5GB general quota and 30GB study quota.

Furthermore, educators such as teachers will also get 42GB per month, divided into 5GB general quota and 37GB study quota. Students and lecturers per month will be subsidized 50GB, divided into 5GB general quota and 45GB study quota.
