KUPANG - Indonesian President Joko Widodo provided cash assistance to street vendors and food stalls at Penfui Market, Maulafa, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Thursday, March 24.

The president gave an envelope containing IDR 1.2 million in cash for traders to increase their business scale.

"This is IDR 1.2 million for you to increase your merchandise", said the President when he handed over white envelopes to every trader at Penfui Market which was monitored virtually through the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, Antara.

Several traders also seemed enthusiastic to take pictures with the Head of State.

Not to forget, President Jokowi also bought merchandise sold by sellers, including cassava leaves which were sold for IDR 1,000 per bunch, and papaya flowers.

"Thank you for a long life, Mr. (President), later his father can continue his work of serving the community", said one of the traders.

The President's visit to Penfui Market became the second agenda in his visit to East Nusa Tenggara Province. Previously, the President inaugurated the arrangement of the Kupang City area in three locations to add tourist destinations in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

The regional arrangement in Kupang City is in three locations, namely Kelapa Lima Beach, Lai-Lai Besi Kopan (LLBK), Kota Lama Beach, and Frans Seda Street.

The President admitted that he was impressed with the arrangement of the area in the three locations because it not only changed the face of the City of Kupang but also made infrastructure better and changed the face of the city's tourist destination called the City of Coral.

That way, said the President, tourists will be happier and more comfortable visiting NTT, especially Kupang City.
