Youth From Subang Dies After Crashing Busway Separator In Front Of Duren Sawit Hospital, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - Andriyawan (26) a motorcyclist had a single accident on Jalan Colonel Sugiono, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Thursday, March 24, morning. The motorbike driven by the man from Subang is thought to have lost control and crashed into the road divider at the scene.

The victim's life could not be saved after suffering severe injuries all over his body. Meanwhile, the Yamaha motorcycle without license plate number B 6043 BC, which he was driving, had bounced as far as five meters after hitting a road divider.

According to Duren Sawit Police Controller Aiptu Ridwan Simanungkalit, the victim is believed to have been traveling at high speed while turning and lost control. The incident occurred on Jalan Colonel Sugiono, to be precise in front of the Duren Sawit Hospital.

"Information came from residents, the victim was due to a single accident. He hit the pavement dividing the road because it was located near a busway crossing," Aiptu Ridwan told reporters at the location, Thursday, March 24.

Police officers from the Duren Sawit Police who arrived at the location immediately identified the victim and contacted the East Jakarta Traffic Unit.

"We will check the victim's identity later. We will hand it over to the Laka unit," he said.

After identification, the victim's body was immediately brought by the family to his hometown in Subang for burial. This single accident case was handled by the East Jakarta Traffic Unit.

Confirmed separately, East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head AKBP Edy Surasa confirmed the accident.

"It's true, it happened this morning. At the time of the incident, the victim was driving from east to west, allegedly not concentrating and swaying until he hit the pavement. The victim died on the spot," said AKBP Edy when contacted by VOI, Thursday, March 24.

Currently, the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit Investigators have summoned the victim's family for further processing.

"Investigators have called their families to take care of the bodies and compensation. We focus on the victims first," said Kasat.
