Discussion On Transportation Integration Tariffs Is Still Tough In The DPRD, Anies' Subordinates Mention Jokowi's Mandate

JAKARTA - The plan to implement an integrated tariff for public transportation in Jakarta amounting to Rp. 10 thousand has not yet reached an agreement. Three times the DKI Provincial Government has met with the DKI DPRD to discuss this matter, but not all council members have agreed on the tariff.

In a working meeting at Commission B of the DKI DPRD with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government today, the DKI DPRD highlighted many things from the integration tariff plans of Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

The DPRD questioned whether or not the nominal value of Rp. 10,000 was appropriate for the three modes of transportation, the impact of the profits obtained by the three BUMDs of DKI, to the burden of subsidies allocated from the DKI Regional Budget when the integration tariff was applied.

The Kebon Sirih MP also questioned the urgency of the integration tariff to be applied, as well as the problem of the legal basis.

Responding to this, the Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, mentioned the mandate of President Joko Widodo who wanted transportation integration in Jabodetabek.

The mandate is contained in Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2018 concerning the Transportation Master Plan for Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).

"There is Presidential Regulation 55 of 2018 concerning the Jabodetabek transportation master plan, where integration is mandated. Even at the last meeting, in January 2019, the President had instructed that integration be carried out," said Syafrin after a meeting at the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 23.

From the Presidential Decree, Syafrin explained that Jokowi mandated the integration of the transportation system in the form of services, infrastructure, routes, as well as tariffs and payment systems as planned in Jakarta.

"This is also the mandate of a limited cabinet meeting (led by Jokowi) on January 8, 2019. Earlier, we were asked about the legal aspects, so it needs to come first," said Syafrin.

Therefore, Syafrin hopes that the DPRD will immediately approve the tariff plan for this public transportation integration so that it can be implemented immediately.

"We hope that this will get approval soon so that truly integration in the Jakarta transit system can immediately be enjoyed by the public," he explained.

For information, the DKI Provincial Government is preparing tariff integration services for three modes of public transportation, namely Transjakarta including Mikrotrans, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta. When implemented, the public can use these three modes of transportation at a rate of Rp. 10,000 for a duration of three hours.
