Joint Sar Team Finds Boy Drowned In Batanghari River

JAMBI - The Basarnas team and the Jambi Regional Police Polairud are searching for a child who drowned while swimming at the Pasar Angso Duo pier, Batanghari River.

"Members of the Jambi Regional Police Basarnas and Polairud are still conducting searches at the location," said the head of the Jambi Basarnas, Abdul Malik, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 22.

At first, the victim named Miko (15) and his two friends went to the pier to swim.

Miko jumped from the pier into the Batanghari river and the victim was carried away by the current and drowned, at that time the victim tried to be helped by his friend but was not reached and was lost by the swift current of the river.

"After we received this information, the Jambi Basarnas Team moved to the scene with water rescue equipment, aqua eyes underwater device, communication equipment, diving equipment, and medical equipment," said Abdul Malik.

Until this news was published, the team from the Jambi Basarnas and the Jambi Regional Police Polairud personnel were still searching the vicinity of the incident.
